It’s been almost three years since the third season of Strangers Things came to a dramatic end and now, we finally know when the highly-anticipated fourth season of the sci-fi adventure show will be airing on Netflix. Here is everything you need to know about Season 4 of Stranger Things.
When Is Stranger Things’ Season 4 Release Date?
The fourth season will be coming in two parts, with the first five episodes being released on May 27 and the final five being released on July 1. This is a similar format to what shows like Breaking Bad and The Sopranos have done, though Netflix is sticking with its binge format of releasing the episodes at the same time instead of a weekly release schedule.
Is There a Stranger Things Trailer?
There have been a few trailers released, but none of them has given much information about the upcoming season, other than the Byers and Eleven returning from California to Indiana for Spring Break, which will probably be right when things start to go haywire. There’s also the fact (or implication) that David Harbor’s character Jim Hopper is alive in Russia. You can definitely expect a few trailers to pop up in the next few months, especially as we get closer to May 27. So be on the lookout.
Who’s in the Cast for Season 4?
Most of the characters you know and love are coming back, including Winona Ryder, David Harbor, Millie Bobby Brown, and the rest of the kids. A few new names have been included as well, along with Brett Gelman, who plays Murray Bauman, officially being bumped up to the main cast.

Do We Know the Plot for Season 4?
We have a general idea of where the season will be heading thanks to a synopsis from Netflix. The new season will take place six months after the end of Season 3 and, obviously, the show will have to deal with the changes from that season’s finale, including Hopper now stuck in a prison in Russia and the Byers family (plus Eleven) leaving Hawkins to get a fresh start. And of course, “a new and horrifying supernatural threat” emerges that forces the gang to once again solve a mystery that “if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.” But “might” is doing a lot of work in that sentence – given that another season of the hit show has been confirmed.
Wait, So This Is Not The Last Season?
Nope! The Duffer Brothers, who created the show, have long insisted that they have had a clear plan for Stranger Things since the beginning and never intended it to go on forever. And they’re sticking to that, with the fifth season being confirmed as the show’s last. But that does mean that there is more Stranger Things coming after the upcoming fourth season.
